It's Been Four Years

Since the creation of TAS 1000 Fans. A blog that was created 9 years after the release of a rare, virtually unknown album. I'm glad to say I've made friends with the creation of the blog.

However, the last post was a year ago. I think it's time to say goodbye from avid posting. There's no new information, and the only time we'll really post now is when there's real information or when there's something going on. This was virtually expected. I'd like to thank you all for reading TAS 1000 Fans. It's been real fun.

Finishing off, I think we'll start off with a rundown of the blog creation and where it led me and others.

In mid-2012 I'd just rediscovered TAS 1000. It was from a YouTube video by an MCCP (Miniclip Club Penguin) forum administrator. Sadly, MCCP no longer exists, but then again, neither does Miniclip, really.

TAS 1000 first caught my attention from Club Penguin, as with most people. I'd signed up at a young age. It was relatable for someone my age, having just got a computer. It interested me for a long time, how people could communicate with others in an online game.

In late 2012 I'd approached Scott via the TAS 1000 page. I added him on Facebook and we talked about TAS 1000 for an awful long time. By long time - I mean hours and weeks of discussing purely TAS-related content. It was awesome to talk to someone who'd shared a very similar interest. It didn't stop there - Scott had put me in touch with fellow TAS 1000 fans, Anders and Hayden. I'd thought this was quite strange - these were people my age, who'd most likely had the exact same experience I'd had in rediscovering TAS 1000.

Scott, Anders, Hayden and I would talk for hours on end about the band. We'd talk about the myths, and about a some time later, we tried to unravel them.

The surprise to us? We did.

We'd discovered the members weren't dead; we'd discovered who Marta was (and Anders even talked to her), we'd bought the album in physical form, we'd virtually discovered how the band ended. It was absolutely ridiculous, and we found out the Facebook page wasn't really run by Cassidy Picken.

In late 2012, we'd become so interested with TAS 1000 band, we formed a sort of tribute band.
The only song ever made - and to this day - released, was "I Told Him To Shut Up". A song entirely composed on the piano by Anders and Hayden. We were going to mix it, and Scott was going to produce it. It never happened. It was a completely raw mix. We'd planned to make a full album - sadly this also never happened. The promise was to make a remake of I've Been Delayed. We had a band conflict that we settled immediately. Sadly, after the release of the only song, we'd moved on to other things.

Me and Scott were discussing completely different things, with the sporadic chat about TAS 1000, and Anders and Hayden moved on to something else. Myself and Scott still talk a lot, but we have no idea what happened to Anders and Hayden. It'd be cool to talk to both of them again. Those were fun days.

I'd also met someone named Enzo. Enzo was incredibly enthusiastic about TAS 1000 and always had questions. They were insanely enthusiastic about the band. He'd linked me to stuff I'd never heard of before - which was always interesting. Oh, and Surge is back!

And finally - Jeremy. I believe Jeremy was a friend of Scott's before I started talking to him - we still converse about music. Also very interested in the band - we had other common interests musically. I believe Jeremy also wanted to start a collab with TAS 2000 - sadly this never materialized but it would have been fascinating to see how it worked out!

So, it's been four years of TAS 1000 Fans. It's been four years of TAS 2000. It's been almost thirteen years of A Message for Marta.

Thank you to the people I've met through listening to the band. It's been fun. And once again, thanks for reading the blog!

Late 2014 Update

So, the time has come to say that TAS 1000 Fans has lasted another year, albeit with a lot of hiatus. Two years have passed since I set up this blog, and through small patches of fans that have come through I've been relatively updated with this concept.

6000 views, I'm actually very surprised. Last time I updated the blog we were on something like 4000 views, wow. Figures have gone up quickly. Thanks to everyone who has viewed this site!

Apologies about the TAS 1000 Timeline thing, I was requested this a long time ago and haven't had the time to do it whatsoever. I apologize for this and will be taking action to make sure I finish it as quickly as possible.

Within the news of TAS 2000, I severely doubt that TAS 2000 will release anything again. Anders has disappeared, Hayden doesn't seem very active and has other things going on, and it seems that myself and Scott also have other things going on. Within that news that we were going to release an album, it's been almost two years since we've actually done anything. We genuinely do apologize for any 'let-down's' of the sort and will hopefully make it up by regaining any work I've done in the past year and mixing it myself. I myself have done work with some answering machine related things, and will hopefully be able to remain in that interest for some time.

While the Twitter is still alive, I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has viewed, followed us on Twitter, liked us on Facebook, etc. I probably wouldn't still be running this blog.

Huge respect for Scott, Anders and Hayden - wouldn't have had the laughs doing this. Have fun with whatever you're doing.

Thanks

Lewis
